FileZilla is a cross-platform FTP, SFTP (FTP over secure socket layer) and FTPS (FTP over secure shell) client. FileZilla Server is an FTP server for Windows. This program is open source, free of charge. The interface is really easy to use and very intuitive, with drag & drop support, remote file editing and configurable transfer speed limits. Downloads and uploads can be paused and resumed at any time, even for large files (more than 4GB). It also supports timeout detection. The site manager is a nice feature, it allows a user to create a list of FTP sites along with their connection parameters. A message log console displays the commands sent by the client and the remote server's responses.
It has a couple of minor bugs. It will be nice that the next versions can add some features present in other FTP servers. In FTP mode, the date or timestamps attributes of a file can only be retained if they are setted again on the server. For downloaded files, you have to keep timestamps manually, not automatically and this option has to be enabled from the menu.
